Capitalism isn’t working

The end of the Peace Camp on Parliament Square
I went to London recently and had a chat with Brian Haw – his picture is elsewhere on my photostream.
He was scathing about the ‘peace camp’ that had spring up around him. It was a distraction and a mess and nothing to do with him. Today, the ‘peace camp’ lost the latest round of its eviction battle. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-10659518
To be honest, it was a mess and badly kept and, if it was meant to be making a point, it wasn’t doing it very well.
Summer in the city
This picture was taken outside the National Gallery in London. Perhaps one of the better ways to cool down on a hot summer day!
Bright Lights, Small Town #photo
I’m still experimenting with long exposures and this one has worked nicely, I think!
It was taken in Newton Abbot, near to the War Memorial.
North Tower, Exeter Cathedral by night #photo
This is the North Tower of Exeter Cathedral. The two towers of the Cathedral are the main surviving parts of the Norman cathedral.
The Cherub at 11 Cathedral Close #photo
The Cherub at 11 Cathedral Close, originally uploaded by jamesmb.
This is one of a number of wooden carvings that appear above the door at 11 Cathedral Close, Exeter.
11 Cathedral Close is part of the set of stone buildings that form the northern edge of the Cathedral precinct. It was formally the residence of the Archdeacon of Barnstaple
The building is Grade 1 Listed.
(Apologies if the pic is wonky – so is the door!)
