OK.

So I had a crazy idea.

I’d find a sponsor for my 10,000th tweet.

Right now, I’m at Like Minds 2010. As I arrived, I was unable to use my Twitter feed. Annoying.

But I knew that my friend and co-host, Kate Day, was going to be there. So I went down to the green room to find her. She wasn’t there.

Other people were but Kate wasn’t.

And I chatted with them.

The subject of charity and the Socialholic Experiment came up.

And some bloke who I have never met before said, ‘I’ll do it. I’ll give you £100 for your 10,000th tweet’.

He was serious too.

And I write this blog post just after having left him. And I am slightly shaking.

The man who has generously sponsored that tweet is Malcolm Scovil and he is from LeapAnywhere. I have only just met him but I can tell you that the man is lovely. A proper nice bloke. Generous and brilliantly supportive.

And amazing.

Is there any better day than #FollowFriday?  OK, apart from the weekends, is there any better day than #FollowFriday?  Fine, apart from Wednesday because it’s half way through the week, is there any better day than #FollowFriday.  Right then, apart from Thursday which is the start of the weekend preparations, is there any better day than #FollowFriday?  CAN YOU PEOPLE JUST SHUT UP?! Right, I’ll start again…

It’s Friday. Possibly the best last day in the standard working week and the best day on which to do #FollowFriday.

Wooohoooo! It’s Follow Friday again!

I’ve spent the day at #NetworkCentral09 (or at least a chunk of it – the rest was spent trying to get a train from Taunton and getting soaked and cold – but the least said about that the better!).  Anyway, this week’s #followfriday’s all come from #NetworkCentral09!

@Claire_Sloane is one person who really understands social media.  She engages with people online and gives you a smile – which is pretty good going.  She’s also a cracking photographer and you can find her work here.

@JackieDawks is a top recruiter and also the Chairman of Devon Air Ambulance Trust.  She’s also fab online with a wicked sense of humour.

And finally @MattYoungDJ who you will know as half of Matt and Dani at breakfast on Heart Exeter.  In a moment of triumph for social media, he managed to wangle a Heart mug for one of my colleagues using only charm and the power of Twitter!
