The end of the Peace Camp on Parliament Square
I went to London recently and had a chat with Brian Haw – his picture is elsewhere on my photostream.
He was scathing about the ‘peace camp’ that had spring up around him. It was a distraction and a mess and nothing to do with him. Today, the ‘peace camp’ lost the latest round of its eviction battle. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-10659518
To be honest, it was a mess and badly kept and, if it was meant to be making a point, it wasn’t doing it very well.
Summer in the city
This picture was taken outside the National Gallery in London. Perhaps one of the better ways to cool down on a hot summer day!
City and Spitalfields #photo
The building on the left houses Patisserie Valerie and I love the shape of it. It goes to a point rather than a right angle, so it plays with the perspective and defines the space that surrounds it. It is a very ‘city’ place to hang out.
In the background, at the end of road and keeping an eye on the City, is Christ Church, Spitalfields. Very much part of old London, it was built in the early to mid 1700′s as a response to the growing number of ‘godless’ and ‘non-conformist’ people outside the City of London.
London Tron #Photo
London Tron, originally uploaded by jamesmb.
I took this after the PhotoLegal recording at Vision 09 in London. It is somewhere near Liverpool Street Station.
Someone will, I hope, be able to tell me where exactly because it’s really worth finding. It has a very strange atmosphere about it and it is entirely to do with the lights.
Slowly, I’m getting some pics together and they can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/socialholic/
